Choosing between public or private institutions is the first step on that journey. Let us describe the difference between private universities or private colleges. Private universities are not operated by government and thus they can charge what they like. But they have to keep their standard high to attract the students. These universities do not receive their primary funding from a state government. Private universities usually have a smaller selection of majors but may offer more specialized academic programs. Like private universities, private colleges are an independent school that sets their own policies and goals, and are privately funded. Private colleges are generally smaller than public or private universities.
CollegeScan advice: If either colleges or universities offer the area of study and the social vibe you're looking for, do your future self a favor. Pursue a graduate degree either at a private university or at a private college and get benefit from academic rigor.
